Mentor Graphics Expands HDL Education Offerings
WILSONVILLE, Ore., Nov. 27 /PRNewswire/ --
Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) announced today the availability,
through their Education Services unit, of expanded hardware description
language (HDL) course offerings in the United States and Asia. This new set of
course offerings will provide comprehensive HDL design instruction and are
based on materials licensed through Doulos, a leading HDL training provider
headquartered in Europe. These courses feature industry-leading HDL products from Mentor's HDL
Division including the ModelSim® VHDL/Verilog simulator and the
LeonardoSpectrum(TM) synthesis solution. Courses are led by Mentor Graphics
subject-matter experts and are available as regularly scheduled public classes
and as private classes conducted at customer sites. ``With the addition of these offerings, we are able to deliver leading-edge
HDL education solutions to our customers,'' explained John Fronius, Director of
Education Services for Mentor Graphics. ``Our goal is to provide our customers
with knowledge transfer covering the most current applications and design
methodologies available. The Doulos course offerings paired with Mentor's HDL
products enable us to do just that.'' Anne Sanquini, Vice President and General Manager of Mentor Graphics' HDL
Design Division commented, ``Both FPGA design and ASIC verification are
continually evolving. We provide our customers with courses focused on the
latest design issues, using the industry's leading HDL tools to keep them
ahead of the power curve.'' Initial courses available from Mentor Graphics are Comprehensive VHDL,
Comprehensive Verilog, and Expert VHDL. Comprehensive VHDL and Comprehensive
Verilog teach the application of their languages for programmable logic and
ASIC design. Expert VHDL is intended for design engineers who wish to deepen
their knowledge of RTL and behavioral synthesis and advanced verification
issues. Additional focus is given to improving VHDL coding style with design
re-use in mind. All classes include hands-on workshops, designed to reinforce
the material presented and deepen the process of learning through laboratory
exercises. ``We are pleased Mentor Graphics has decided to license Doulos HDL
materials in the US and Asia,'' said Rob Hurley, director and co-founder of
Doulos. ``The direct provision of our proven course materials by Mentor in
these regions will offer their customers a best-in-class HDL training
solution.'' For more information about Doulos, visit http://www.doulos.com . For more information on Mentor Graphics Education Services offerings,
